Is it safe to use crib bumpers?

No: Crib bumpers have been shown to be a major suffocation and strangulation risk for infants. Although sold as part of elaborate crib bedding ensembles, crib bumpers are not needed, and in fact, they are hazardous to your baby's sleep health. When preparing your baby's crib, keep this in mind: bare, boring, and no crib bumpers. Use only a tight fitting mattress and crib sheet in your baby's crib.
