A member asked:

Do you have alzheimer's symptoms if you have cjd symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some similar symptom: If by alzheimer's symptoms you mean symptoms such as memory loss, spatial disorientation, problems with judgment, visual disturbances, etc. Then yes similar symptoms also occur with cjd. However, cjd also has other symptoms such as decreased coordination and balance that do not typically occur in alzheimer's disease. The overlap of symptoms is due to common areas of the brain being affected.
