Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Memory loss: Consider Alzheimer's disease as largest slice of dementia pie. In other words, Alzheimer's disease is a type of dementia such that both have memory loss in common. Other types of dementia like vascular dementia & Lewy body also share memory loss in common. What differs is how said memory loss presents itself, whether gradual or step-wise, w/ or w/o movement disorder. Check out http://alz.org
