Probably not: Cjd from dental equipment has never been reported. 4 cases linked to neurosurgical equipment and 2 from eeg depth electrodes. No equipment related cases since 1976 when specialized sterilization techniques were introduced. Other sources of transmission (244 cases) have included human growth hormone, and corneal & dura mater grafts. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/cjd/qa_cjd_infection_control.htm.
