A member asked:

At what temperature does creutzfeldt-jakob disease virus in beef get killed when cooked?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not "killed": The agent of cjd (misfolded protein or prion) is not a virus as there is no dna or RNA in it. It is unfortunately extremely resistant to inactivation and there is no evidence that cooking eliminates risk, i.e., you cannot cook contaminated meat enough to make it safe.
