Probably not: Cjd or variant cjd (mad cow disease) is not transmitted by casual contact, and spouses or other family members have no higher risk than general population. A few cases of variant cjd have been reported after blood transfusion, but this put a large amount of contaminated blood directly into the body. Transmission from some blood on unbroken skin has never been reported and is very unlikely.
