Different responses: Relapse refers to when a process such as a hepatitis infection responds to treatment initially, but is followed by recurrence of the process/disease. Non-response means there is no affect of treatment to begin with.

See below:: Relapse means that you got better or were symptom free for a time, and then symptoms/disease returned. Nonresponse means their is no response at all to treatment.
