Infection by bacteri: An ulcerated cornea is a focal deposit of infection on the surface of the front of the eye. Most are due to contact lens overwear with continued wear when the eye gets red. You might notice a white spot on the cornea in the mirror which is the ulcer crater. This can be serious and needs immediate attention by your ophthalmologist to treat the infection.
