Medical school: Optometrists attend optometry school and receive an od (not an md). Ophthalmologists attend medical school and receive an md. Ophthalmologists can do complex eye surgeries and specialize in the different parts of the eye. Optomotrists can dilate eyes, measure eye pressure (glaucoma) eye chart/stigmatism check to refract lens.
