A member asked:

Are both naphcon and naphcon-a used for eye conditions due to allergies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Avoid regular use: Both drops contain naphazoline, which is a potent blood vessel constrictor. This is what "gets the red out". If used too much it can causes rebound redness. Naphcon a contains an antihistamine as well. Try a plain allergy eye drop like zaditor, (ketotifen) alaway, or zyrtec drops.
