They could.: When you initially place contacts on, your eyes can feel as if they burn. If this occurs, place a rewetting or artificial tear drop in your eye right after placing the contact. This should relieve the symptom. You can also move the contact over to one side and then recenter it to see if that relieves the burning. Do not use visine "red eye" drops. You can use visine tears.
