Gluten-free diet: Celiac disease can be mild to very serious. It is treated with a gluten-free diet, which makes the symptoms go away. Gluten-free grains include corn, rice, millet, quinoa, sorghum, buckwheat, etc...

Avoid gluten: Celiac disease is due to inflammation in the intestine caused by a reaction to gluten containing foods. Gluen is found in the grains wheat, barley, rye and triticale (a cross between wheat and rye), so avoiding foods containing theses grains will allow the intestinal inflammation to resolve. Confirm the diagnosis with a GI specialist who can also advise you on your diet.

Read labels: This requires that you go on a gluten free diet. Gluten is found primarily in wheat, barley and rye, so any product with these is out. There are a number of sources on the web, including the Mayo clinic, that provide guidance.Just search for "gluten free diet".The FDA requires that vendors list any of the top 8 food allergens on packages, so start looking. Some even have a GF seal.
