Bedtime routine: Create a bedtime routine that you can do regularly and with consistency both around timing and activities. Let the routine become baby's sleep association rather than nursing. If baby develops a sleep association with nursing, he will think he needs that to fall asleep. Try a song, rocking, soothing noises and place him in bed sleepy but awake. Let him do the rest.

Rocking, walking: There is no magic solution unfortunately. Rocking, carrying your baby while walking around, baby riding in a car or stroller, and using a pacifier are all helpful. Some people say to let the baby cry it out, but i don't recommend it in the first 2-3 months. Your baby needs to nurse every few hours. The attachment parenting people promote nursing to sleep, so it's okay, but it's tiring for you.
