A member asked:

How long does the appendicitis procedure generally take?

Less than an hour: On average, appendectomies are 30-60 minute operations. When caught early and performed via minimally invasive surgery, people may be home in less than a day and back to normal activities in 1-2 weeks.

It depends: Removal of the appendix, or appendectomy, can take as little as half an hour or as much as three. It all depends on the severity of the infection and inflammation which has everything to do with how early the appendicitis was caught.
