How do i prevent appendicitis?

Unknown.: As we don't really understand what causes appendicitis, we have no way to prevent it. Like many acute illnesses, the sooner we diagnose it, the better people do.

You don't: Can't be done. It's just bad luck.

I am not aware: Of any way of preventing appendicitis, short of surgical removal. I have performed prophylactic appendectomy once on a person who was about to embark on a solo around the world yacht trip, so he would not develop appendicitis while he was many days away from medical care. Besides this unique situation, i cannot think of any other for which a prophylactic appendectomy would become advisable.
