Female incontinence: Female urinary incontinence can be due to an anatomical support problem , hyperactive bladder muscle or infection. Treatment will depend on cause.

Treatable condition: Two common reasons for urine leakage in women. Urge incontinence occurs when the bladder spasms pushing urine out. Medications help. Stress incontinence occurs after childbirth where the urethra support is stretched so it sags and urine leakage occurs with coughing, laughing, and exercise. Kegels may help. If not, then a sling works well: takes 10 minutes, outpatient, & recovery in few days.

I believe the question refers only to wetting with laughing and does not mention loss of urine with coughing or sneezing. Loss of urine which occurs only with laughing or giggling is "giggle incontinence" & NOT true stress incontinence. It responds to Ritalin or Concerta.

How can I stop from leaking urine?

Physical Therapy: Sometimes medicine can help. Sometimes surgery can help. I always have my patients see a physical therapist that specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy, i see amazing improvements after physical therapy in bladder control. You can find instructions about how to do kegel exercises, but having a physical therapist is much more efficient / effective.

Am i squirting or leaking urine?

You can do both: Stress urinary incontinence (sui) involves the loss of urethral support and intrinsic pressure leading to loss of urine. This an be relative passive, and also can "squirt" out with pressure, coughing, or sneezing, for example.

Urinary incontinence: Means you have a problem with urinary control. May be due to problems with urinary sphincters, urethra or bladder. Could be either an anatomic or a neurologic problem. Suggest you consult with a urologist. Good luck.
