Depends: On severity and presence or absence of symptoms. An echocardiogram can define severity and associated pulmonary hypertension . If any of these are present or if there is damage to the right heart a cardiologist's evaluation can be helpful.

Cardiologist: It depends on the grade of TR and if there is something contributing to your TR. It can go from mild, moderat, severe. It is important that you see a cardiologist in order for him to give an expert opinion on the matter.
