Can Case Hair Loss: Sarafem is indicated for the treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (pmdd) in adult women. Its active ingredient is fluoxetine which is also the active ingredient in prozac. Hair loss, or alopecia, is an infrequently reported side effect. Baldness is not reported, but any hair loss can be distressing. Consult your physician if you are experiencing hair loss while taking sarafem.
