Filling without shot: I'm guessing you're having fillings done without getting a shot, and you're asking if topical anesthetic (the numbing jelly) can be used, then yes it can be used, especially if the filling will be near the gums. It will give some local anesthesia to any gum tissue it's applied to, but will not give any numbing to your teeth.
