Sedation: Rapid sedation can be by Ativan im (intramuscular injection), Haldol im or PO (by mouth), risperdal-m tabs (rapid acting), zyprexa zydis rapid release PO , or geodon (ziprasidone). It depends on preference of the prescriber and the acuity level as well as other medications taken concurrently, to avoid adverse interactions.
