Functional pain/abdo: Is another name for pain in abdomen in children and some adults which can be acute or chronic for which no cause has been found inspite of doing all the tests.Some GI specialist feel that severe case of functional abdominal pain may actually be due to visceral hyperalgesia.It means that a person has increased hypersensitivity to pain in the viscra of stomach and intestines. It responds to pain me.
