Unlikely: It is very very rare for iodine deficiency to cause hypothyroidism; our salt is supplemented. Most common cause in usa is hashimotos, and taking iodine supplementation without thyroid hormone can worsen your situation. See your pcp or endo for proper evaluation and treatment.
