What blood tests are there for urology prostate uses?

The PSA & fPSA : Most men are screened with a psa blood test. This test is specific for the prostate but not specific for prostate cancer . It may be elevated by infection, inflammation or benign enlargement. The free psa fraction (fpsa) helps identify men at higher risk for cancer. Perhaps most important is to get a psa at age 40 or 45 as a baseline and then to be able to track changes (psa velocity) over time.

Blood test: The only blood test is the PSA. This is used with a digital rectal exam to determine if a man is at risk for prostate cancer. IT is recommended when men turn 50 or 40 if there is a family history of prostate cancer

PSA : The most common blood test we use is the PSA to screen for prostate cancer. If psa is high, prostate cancer needs to be excluded usually through a prostate biopsy
