Confused: Do you mean the white part of the eyes? Are they red and irritated? The sclera is generically referred to as the white of the eye, made of a very tough type of protein. When it becomes "red, " the causes can vary; from infection, to eye pressure, to injury, dryness of the cornea, allergy, etc. While some causes may be self-limited, others could blind you. You need to get an eye examination.
