Not recommended: Tobradex (tobramycin and dexamethasone) contains dexamethosone & is category c for use in pregnancy (benefits should outweigh risks). Animal studies show doubling of birth defects during pregnancy & long term use during pregnancy increases risk of small birth weight & intrauterine fetal death. The tobramycin aspect of tobradex (tobramycin and dexamethasone) appears to be safe.
