No: Estroven contains soy plant phytoestrogens which are weak (very weak) activators of the estrogen receptor. The word "estrogen" commonly refers to 17-beta-estradiol, the most potent of the estrogen receptor stimulators found in the natural human circulation.

No: Estroven does not contain human estrogen. It does contain some isoflavones, which is a plant based estrogen. Although plant Estrogens may be helpful in treating some mild menopausal symptoms, that are chemically different.

No, but...: ...Alfalfa contains isoflavones which have a low and variable degree of estrogen like activity in animal models. One would have to consume a lot of alfalfa to have much of an effect, and there are side effects associated with this supplement which would need to be seriously considered first.

Varies GREATLY: Plant produced estrogens, also know as phytoestrogens, can vary greatly depending on the type of plant. Flax seed, soy, sesame seed are some foods at the top of the list. Some studies appear to show health benefits from increased consumption of these foods. The amount an individual can safely ingest varies greatly. Liver fuction is one of several determining factors.
