A member asked:

What nut allergy tests are there for tree nuts? what are the non-tree nuts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tree Nuts: Tree nuts refers to all nuts that grow on trees, such as walnut, pecan, brazil nut, cashew, etc. All of these and a few others are available as allergy tests. Peanut and soynut are not true nuts; they are legumes that are roasted to be crunchy. They have some of the same allergens as tree nuts, however. Some people are allergic to tree nuts and peanut. If allergic to one tree nut, avoid all.
