Technically, minutes: Once the test is placed, it is read in 10-15 minutes. However, most patients are tested to a number of different allergens reflecting their food or environmental exposures. In addition, lower concentrations and different techniques are used first (percutaneous vs. intradermal) to reduce the chance of big reactions. Call your allergist for a reasonable expectation.
