A member asked:

I seem to have a bit of pain on my tongue and and gums when i eat yellow mustard? is it the spiciness or an allergy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unclear: It is possible that it is simply the spiciness. But also possible is a food cross reactivity. Does this happen at all times of the year? Or only during a pollen season? Some foods will cross react with pollens and give symptoms during the pollen season. It is not a true allergy though.
