See ID: See an infectious disease doctor. I'll check an HIV test, titers for mycoplasma, valley fever (if in southwest), legionella and other test. Id doctor are the best for this. Also conside pulmonologist visit.

Immune suppression: Check for vitamin deficiencies and complete a full battery of immune system tests including hiv, complement system, thyroid function tests, complete blood count with differential. Also consider stress and anxiety as major factors.
