Unusual: Very unlikely to get shingles 3 times. Consult ophthalmologist. Was it really shingles? Did it involve the tip of your nose? The cornea shares a sensory nerve with the tip of the nose. This is a marker for possible damage to the cornea by shingles. Retinitis pigmentosa is a separate issue. The older you are at onset the more likely you may experience rapid progression.
