Is there something i can buy over-the-counter for scabies?

Yes, but...: ...Dont' count on it working. The most effective scabies treatments are prescription-only; plus you need to be sure that you do indeed have scabies, since that is the most over-diagnosed rash in the world. See a dermatologist, get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

No unfortunately: For curing scabies, you need prescription strength Permethrin cream or oral ivermectin. You need at least a 5% solution of Permethrin to be effective in treating scabies. In addition to medical treatment you will need to wash all clothing, towels and linens in hot water so that you don't get re-infected.

Relief, not cure: Over the counter medicines like anti-itching cream and antihistamine pills help you feel better but do not kill scabies. Scabie-killing medicine us still prescription. Hope those helps.
