Change over time: The psa is most useful in screening by watching it over the course of years. An accelerated change can indicate disease. Even so, biopsies are unpleasant and numerous treatment options exist. Get at least 2 opinions and know that many urologists have a vested interest in the treatment option(s) they suggest. It is fair to ask too!

I recently received results of bloodwork resulting in total PSA of .6 ng/ml but a free PSA of 18%. Proactive testing, no symptoms, 62, 200 lbs, physically active, non-smoker, 60 years old. Is this concerning enough to seek other tests/treatments?
