Not really: There is no quick or easy way to reduce the effects of pradaxa.

No: Pradaxa has no specific reversal agent at this time. There are ongoing trials to develop reversal agents for these medicines (called factor ten-a inhibitors) but none are on the market today (6/28/12). The drug may also interfere with some of the treatments we use (like fresh frozen plasma) if it is still present in the bloodstream.

Pradaxa reversible?: Although most websites agree there is no specific agent for reversing Pradaxa (dabigatran) at present, there are protocols (such as the one shown in the image) for using factor viia or FFP (fresh frozen plasma) &/or dialysis for treating bleeding due to the drug.
