Who should be tested for high risk of having blood clots?

Not a usual screenin: Typically this would be someone who has already had a blood clot unless they had a very strong family history, otherwise it is not beneficial to screen for hypercoagulation, which is high risk for blood clots.

Family or personal: History of clots. I would screen young girls who are considering birth control if there is a family history of clots, as birth control will increase clotting risk. Some parents want their children screened because they have some detected abnormality. I would screen anyone who has had a clot in their leg or lungs.
