What's the difference between cross eyes and strabismus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Different causes: These terms are interchangeable. Strabismus usually refers to turning in or out of the eyes with onset in childhood. This can be due to a refractive error, deprivation of vision or other congenital problems. Adults can also have crossing of the eyes for different reasons, including nerve problems and decompensation of corrected childhood strabismus.
