Maybe: Some people, particularly younger children, are supersensitive to artificial dyes, flavors or preservatives. Most docs believe that adhd and LD are inherited or caused by brain injury. But these are just the brains that are more susceptible to adverse effects from these ingredients. It's best to discuss this with your doc using your observations to help limit (or not) the child's diet.

In a small number of: Children with adhd there is an allergic or pharmacologically mediated behavior change on exposure to some dyes (e.g., tartrazine, quinolineyellow, sunset yellow, carmoisine, ponceau 4r, & allura red ) & sodium benzoate added to foods & medicines. If a child is allergic to certain foods or dyes & behavior changes can be seen with exposure, an elimination diet is worthwhile.
