A member asked:

What would happen if one of your eyeballs popped out of its socket?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The eyes can protrude from the sockets and move beyond the eyelids (called subluxation) in people with shallow eye sockets. This can be dangerous as it places undue stretch and strain on the optic nerve, compromising blood flow and possibly damaging neurons. If an eye was completely removed from the socket and the optic nerve was severed, the vision is lost permanently.
