A member asked:

What is the relationaship of trachoma and chlamydia conjunctivitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Similar: Chlamydia trachomatis is the causative agent in conjunctivitis or eye infection in babies. What happens is the mom has chlamydia and when the baby is delivered the infection gets into the eye of the baby. We give antibiotic ointment to prevent that, so it's pretty rare these days.
