Bronchiolitis: Rsv virus causes inflammation in the smaller airways. There are many variables that add to the severity of the inflammation and symptoms, including age and predisposition to asthma or wheezing. Some children recover in 1-2 weeks and some children recover in 1-2 months. Some children get a secondary infection such as an ear infection, so it seems to take longer to get back to normal.

1-2 wks: Most children will catch RSV by the age of 2 years RSV spreads rapidly among children. While most will recover in 1 to 2 weeks, even after recovery, infants and children can continue to spread the virus for 1 to 3 weeks
