Bronchiolitis: Rsv virus causes inflammation in the smaller airways. There are many variables that add to the severity of the inflammation and symptoms, including age and predisposition to asthma or wheezing. Some children recover in 1-2 weeks and some children recover in 1-2 months. Some children get a secondary infection such as an ear infection, so it seems to take longer to get back to normal.
