Many: In the acute period: further loss of cord function, pneumonia, blood clots, pressure sores, urinary tract infections, acute depression. Later on: urinary tract infection, pressure sores, autonomic dysreflexia (severe high blood pressure), fractures and deformity of the paralyzed limbs, osteoporosis, depression.
