Immune problem: Iga is an antibody produced by our immune system. It can be found in the blood but is mainly secreted into mucous membranes -- sinuses for example. It is the most common immunodeficiency. Go to www.Primaryimmune.Org for some really good info on IgA deficiency.

Maybe no issue: Ig a is one of the 5 known immunoglobulins in human. Isolated IgA deficiency occurs in 1/500 of the population and is not usually associated with susceptibility to infections unless there is an igg deficiency as well. If she appears healthy otherwise, don't worry about it. On the other hand, was the blood test obtained because she gets frequent sinus or lung infections in the first place?
