Difference in vessel: This is a protective mechanism. The vessels in the brain dont have as much ability to contract compared to peripheral blood vessels. The brain is the main server of the body and has to be protected to keep the rest of the body functioning. The peripheral vessels constricting causes shunting of the blood towards the path of least resistance.
