A member asked:

How does chronic vasoconstriction in the brain affect it? what are the lasting detrimental affects? please elaborate

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps stroke: Vasoconstriction refers to narrowing or arteries. This reduces blood flow. The brain needs blood flow. When it is working, blood flow increases to areas to higher metabolism. It's not clear what condition causes chronic vasoconstriction. Atherosclerosis narrows some of the important arteries to the brain, and often this increases the risk of stroke.
