Vioxx: For several years, reports had surfaced about studies suggesting a possible increased risk of a cardiovascular event associated with the long-term use of the selective COX-2 inhibitor, Vioxx. Not long ago, these reports were confirmed and the production of Vioxx was stopped by the company.
