Yes and no: Xanax (alprazolam) is a very short acting benzodiazepine and Klonopin is longer acting. Xanax (alprazolam) is much more addictive if used long term, but may act quicker. Neither is good long term as you develop tolerance meaning the same dose is no longer effective. It is better to fo find an antidepressant or a wide variety of other anti anxiety medications.

Xanax (alprazolam): For the most part, yes, but depends on dosage and length of time on the medicine.
