A member asked:

Chronic renal impairment; why does it give you symptoms such as nausea, weakness, fatigue, itchy skin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Urine in blood: What you describe is a clinical syndrome known as uremia. Literally urine in the blood. Uremia is associated with fluid, electrolyte, and hormone imbalances and metabolic abnormalities, which develop in parallel with deterioration of kidney function. Clinical symptoms of uremia may include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, anorexia, weight loss, muscle cramps, pruritus, and change in mental status.
