May be off the list: This is a very serious situation and it can jeopardize your candidacy for receiving a transplant. Alcoholism is a serious disease just like heart disease or stroke. So, just as you would not transplant a patient actively having a heart attack, patients who are drinking can be removed from the transplant list. Be honest with yourself and with your physicians. Alcoholism can be treated.

Buzzzzzz!!: You are in time out for a period of time, usually between 3-6 months...But you may get a red card and be out altogether. It is decided in a multidisciplinary committee.
