Depends: If you had laser surgery in the office there isn't much to do except don't rub your eye for the first hour or two because of the presence of an anesthetic. You may need something for mild discomfort. If you have vitrectomy in an operating room then you will be taking eye drops for several weeks and may have to position your head if a gas bubble was used.
