For example, if you have 100 people with a strep throat who get a throat swab, and 95 of those throat swabs are positive, that throat swab test has a sensitivity of 95%. Notice that a sensitivity of 95% means that 5 out of 100 who have a strep throat would be falsely negative on the throat swab.
